Golf Memberships at 13th Beach
At 13th Beach Golf Links, membership means more than access to world-class courses, it’s about being part of a welcoming community that enjoys golf at its best. Members enjoy year-round access to one of Australia’s most highly regarded clubs.
Where many clubs charge joining fees that offer no lasting value, our members begin their journey by owning a share. Instead of simply taking up a place in a club, they invest in something enduring – a share that holds value and connects them to the long-term future of a club recognised for its courses and its community.
Membership Options at 13th Beach
We offer a variety of memberships to suit different needs and lifestyles, including:
Equity Shareholding
Equity Shareholding
Thirteenth Beach offers two share types that both provide full membership with seven day playing rights.
A Class Share
An A Class share offers the greatest flexibility. It allows the shareholder or nominee to choose either a Full Playing Rights subscription or a Clubhouse subscription. Holders can also give up their playing rights and lease out the share through the Thirteenth Beach Lease Register, subject to availability.
Golf Share
A Golf Share provides the shareholder or nominee with Full Playing Rights. Golf Shares are fully transferable after three years.
Leased Memberships
Leased Memberships
Leased memberships provide golfers with a one year opportunity to experience Thirteenth Beach before committing to a share. Lease members enjoy full seven day playing rights and can participate in weekly competitions. New leases commence annually from 1 July and are subject to availability.
Junior Membership
Junior Membership
Thirteenth Beach proudly supports a thriving Junior Membership pathway across five age categories: Under 15, 15 to 17, 18 to 21, 22 to 25 and 26 to 30. All junior categories include full seven day playing rights across all courses. Junior members are not required to purchase a share, offering a pathway to long term membership and share ownership when the time is right.
Short Course Membership
Short Course Membership
A great-value way to join the 13th Beach community, this membership offers unlimited access to the Short Course, a recognised handicap, and member discounts across the 13th Beach restaurant, driving range, and golf shop.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is 13th Beach a private or public golf club?
13th Beach Golf Links operates as a private members’ club with public access available on the Beach Course.
The Beach Course can be booked by visitors, subject to availability. The Creek Course is reserved exclusively for members and their guests.
This dual structure allows the club to maintain a premium private environment while still welcoming public players to experience one of Australia’s leading public access courses.
What is Equity Membership at 13th Beach?
13th Beach offers Equity Membership, meaning members hold a share in the club rather than simply paying an annual subscription.
Equity Members receive full playing rights across both the Beach and Creek Courses, access to practice facilities, clubhouse amenities and club competitions. As shareholders, members are part of the long-term stewardship of the club.
This structure is a key point of difference compared to non-equity or subscription-based golf clubs.
Does 13th Beach offer Short Course Membership?
Yes.
In addition to Equity Membership, 13th Beach offers Short Course Membership. This provides access to the dedicated Short Course and selected practice facilities, making it an ideal option for beginners, juniors, time-poor golfers or those building confidence before transitioning to full membership.
It’s a more accessible entry point into the club while still delivering the 13th Beach standard of course conditioning and facilities.
Can the public play the Short Course?
Yes. The Short Course is open to the public and can be booked online via the website.
It’s designed as a fun, welcoming format that suits beginners, families, social groups and experienced golfers wanting to sharpen their short game. Because of its shorter layout, it also works well for those wanting a quicker round.
This makes it one of the more approachable golf experiences on the Bellarine Peninsula.
Is the driving range open to the public?
13th Beach has a dedicated driving range and practice facilities including putting greens and short game areas.
Access to practice facilities is primarily available to members. Short Course users and visitors should check current access conditions via the club, as availability can vary depending on member demand and club operations.
How many courses are at 13th Beach?
There are two championship 18-hole courses:
- The Beach Course, which is available for public play
- The Creek Course, which is private for members
In addition, there is a dedicated Short Course designed for development, practice and social play.
Why is the Beach Course highly regarded?
The Beach Course is consistently ranked among Australia’s top public access courses. Set within a coastal dune landscape in Barwon Heads, it offers a true links-style experience shaped by natural contours and seaside conditions.
Its tournament history and conditioning standards have positioned it as one of the premier public golf experiences in Victoria.
How far is 13th Beach from Melbourne?
13th Beach Golf Links is located in Barwon Heads on the Bellarine Peninsula, just over an hour’s drive from Melbourne. Its coastal setting makes it a popular destination for both day trips and golf weekends.
Who is the Short Course best suited for?
The Short Course is ideal for:
- Beginners learning the game
- Juniors developing skills
- Social groups
- Golfers wanting to improve their short game
- Players seeking a shorter, more time-efficient round
It offers a less intimidating environment while still being maintained to the same quality standards as the championship courses.
